In the past, TFAF has been associated with a fundraiser and it was suggested
more than once at the salons that the TFAF return to our humanity and
consider reconnecting with a community group in need of financial help.
After considering comments about reconnecting to the community, the
TFAF board unanimously agreed to provide funding to local youth art
programs by offering a donation at the end of the festival. The board
had already agreed to add a youth art show in conjunction with the Taos
Open to be called “Taos Youth Art,
17 and Under” and funding a youth program seemed an important
goal. The chosen donation recipient will be announced at the festival’s
opening on September 23rd.
